Let’s be honest.  Many parents and grandparents have put their own well being on hold ever since the kids were secured away from Covid-19.  And although this altruism (serving their needs by putting them first) is great for our kids, it isn’t great for parental health.  Muscling or pushing through pain and numbness can be fine for the short-term but definitely needs to be addressed for any chance at long-term health and wellness.  Now with most schools starting up in August, parents have an opportunity to get back on track.

Here’s how City Health Services can set you up for success:

1.   Initial Physician Consultation

If it’s been a while since your last visit, we strongly recommend that one of our physicians do a re-evaluation and consultation.  Things change.  A re-evaluation will give our doctors the opportunity to talk with you about your current pain and neuropathy status, run specific tests to your concerns, and develop a plan for treatment.  Severity or movement of pain from one area to another will require new treatment protocols and an older treatment plan might not address these issues appropriately.

2.   Massage Therapy

After months of wrangling kids and in-home activities, it will be nice to have some time to spend on yourself.  “Treat yourself” is a phrase often used to describe products and services you choose to treat both your mental and physical health.  And Massage Therapy is absolutely one of the available “treat yourself” decisions.  Therapeutic massage, whether Swedish, Deep Tissue, or Sports therapy, is more than just rubbing muscles and skin.  It’s a great way to minimize joint and muscle pain, boost energy, improve posture, reduce headaches and increase blood flow to damaged or hurting areas.

3.   Migraine and Headache Intervention

Those pounding, severe, and chronic headaches you had when the kids were in the house?  Those might not be related to the stress of taking care of, and entertaining, your kids and their friends.  And although you can certainly mask the pain with over-the-counter medication such as aspirin and acetaminophen, wouldn’t it be nice to get to the root cause and also a more long-term solution for your headaches?  A consultation with our physician will help determine the best path for you.

4.   Medical Weight Loss

Honesty is best.  With zero access to gyms or outside workout rooms, children that demand all of our attention and time, and a home workout routine that was constrained to however many square feet your home is, many of us have gained unneeded weight.  City Health Services has a solution for that with our Medical Weight Loss plan.

Under physician supervision, treatment can consist of customized meal planning, inbody composition study, age-appropriate exercise counseling, pharmaceutical grade multivitamin supplements, proprietary whey protein, B12 injections, a branched-chain amino acid supplement, and medically approved fat burner supplements.

5.   In-home or work place injury treatment

Now that most kids are back to school, pushing physical therapy off because you have no time is no longer a valid excuse.  Much like massage therapy, it’s time you took control and thought about yourself for once.  So whether that injury you sustained was at work, on the road, or even in your own home, now is the time to get a professional consultation and a path to being pain free.

Untreated injuries aren’t good for anyone.  Certain types of injury can lead to Sciatica, insomnia, depression, inflamed joints, and loss/lack of mobility.

City Health Services uses a holistic approach to treatment.  We combine our services for neuropathy, rehabilitation, weight loss, massage and physical therapy in order to provide our patients with safe, effective, and non-invasive treatments.

Call and schedule a consultation today.  Treat yourself.
